Spiritual Import of Religious Festivals :Ch-7. Part -5.

Chapter 7: Lord Ganesa – The Remover of Obstacles.

Part-5.

You may know the interesting story as to how Panini, the originator of Sanskrit grammar, received knowledge from Lord Siva.

He was supposed to be the dullest of the students in a group that was studying from a Guru in Taxila, Taksha Shila.

The other boys were very intelligent.

Panini was the most stupid, the least intelligent, very much belittled and made fun of by the students in the class.

He was deeply hurt that he was being cowed down by other students and that he could not understand anything that the teacher said.

Almost in a desperate mood of disgust with everything, he went to the forest and deeply contemplated on Lord Siva.

He prayed, "O Lord! Bless me with Knowledge."

It is said that Lord Siva appeared before him,

danced and revolved His Dakka or Damaru fourteen times,

and the following fourteen sounds were made :-

"1. Aiun, 2. Rlrk, 3. Aowng, 4. Ai ouch, 5. Ha ya va rat, 6. Lan, 7. Na ma nga na nam, 8. Jha bhanj, 9. Gha dha dhash, 10. Ja ba ga da das, 11. Kha pha chha tha tha cha ta tav, 12. Ka pay, 13. Sa sha sar, and 14. Hal."

All this constitutes the very essence of Sanskrit grammar.

These sounds, meaningless as they may appear to us,

became the foundation of Sanskrit grammar and Sanskrit literature.

So, God can teach us without books and without the usual medium of instruction,

by a thought, a sound, a look, a touch or a benign gesture.

Poojya Swami Bhoomananda Tirthaji’s Main Ashram : "Narayanashrama Tapovanam"

The word 'Ashram' (in Sanskrit) stands for an abode of learning or education. It is a pity that even after 50 years of independence; many of us are prone to associate constricted religiosity with the word and dispose of the institutions under such name as engaged in some sectarian practices. Of course, it is only a corollary of the widespread ignorance with which we often stamp our great Bharatiya (Indian) culture as 'Hindu Religion'.

More than the theoretical knowledge of different subjects, education in our country always meant man-making -- purification, fortification and transformation of personality in the holy association of the Teacher, so that the student would become fit to course victoriously through the vicissitudes of life and attain fulfillment.

And Ashrams were the institutions imparting such education. The most important factor underlying the legendary greatness of ancient Bharat was these honored seats of learning - the Ashrams - where the saintly Teacher…

WHERE IS OUR BHARATHEEYA SAMSKARAM?

Rediscover Bharatham!!! Our Father of Nation Mahatma's dream was "Ramarajya in BAharatham". The word secularism may oppose the term used 'Ramarajyam', the term means a land of TRUTH AND VALUES. The Upanishadic culture is the culture of our country. The training given to the citizens of Bharatham to live this Sanatana Dharma is called Hinduism. Bharatham is a Spiritual country. BHA means Knowledge and ratham is one who lives, hence Bharatham means a country where people are living in knowledge. Modernisation, Globalisation , our political parties, our Rulers, our system, our education, parents, new generation, media, our dress code, blind imitation of western countries and many more causes of this. Science and technology is boon for good people, where demonic citizens take advantage and exploit these benefits into criminal activities, we had experience since Atom was mis-used, now the demonic activities is continuing.
Rulers keep open their eyes and ears open and …
